Milestone Hindi conference for the region

THE High Commission of India organised the first Regional Hindi Conference on Saturday at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

The Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Padmaja, said the event was a milestone because it was the first to be organised in the region.

The event attracted Hindi scholars, authors, poets, and government officials associated with Hindi from Fiji, India and the entire Pacific region.

The regional conference also coincided with the 71st Republic Day of reception at the Grand Pacific Hotel which was graced by the President, government ministers, members of Parliament, dignitaries, the diplomatic corps and the Indian community.
