FIJIANA 7s coach Saiasi Fuli believes a dose of energy, concentration and the eagerness to win will avoid his players from slumber in this weekend’s New Zealand Sevens at Hamilton.

Fuli said whichever team would fall asleep during a game would be victim to the new rules of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

The former national rep said Fiji could not afford to lose concentration when it had been pooled against hosts New Zealand, England and China.

“It is like a final in every game and the fittest and the strongest will survive,” Fuli said.

“The competition will be tough and the points are very important.

“The women’s competition is getting tough and we have to be strong.

“We have prepared well and we have done the hard work at training. Unfortunately, we had two injuries.

“They had been replaced and Ana Roqica is not new to the series. This is a good opportunity for us to have another go at Hamilton and Sydney. We have selected the best.”

The team, meanwhile, was welcomed by the crew members of Fiji Airways’ flight FJ411 on Tuesday when they travelled from Nadi to Hamilton to be part of the NZ Sevens.
