TWO Fiji teams will be part of the 2019 World Schools 7s rugby tournament in Auckland New Zealand this week.

The men’s and women’s teams are part of the Rugby Academy Fiji team that left our shores on Tuesday morning.

According to their Facebook status, this is an achievement for the academy to send both girls and boys’ team.

It wasn’t a smooth journey but together the academy has managed to create an opportunity for these aspiring young women and men.

Former Flying Fiji and founder Seremaia Bai had always reminded the team to be inspirational wherever they go.

The teams have landed and settled in well and are finishing their training.

They will be playing against teams such as Samoan Barbarians, New Zealand, Indigenous Australia, USA, Australia, NZ Maori, Canada, Cook Islands, Two Blues Sydney, Vanuatu, NZ Fijians, Tongan Barbarians, Sydney Pasifika, NZ Niue.

The men’s team is made up of Joseph Breckterfield, Michael Hennings, Usaia Tupou, Suliano Mainavolau, Davis Korosaya, Sitiveni Tikomaiwelesi, Jordan Gucake, Mikaele Bogidrau, Sekove Tagicakiverata, Rapoama Bola, Solomoni Silatolu, Alekisio Mataivalu, and Lino Koronibuto.
