Rape trial set for next year

THE trial of a  church  pastor accused of raping three women  has been set in May next year.

Waisake Tulavu appeared before Suva High Court judge Justice Daniel Goundar today.

He is charged with four counts of rape and one of sexual assault.

Mr Tulavu is alleged to have committed the offences on three complainants between May 11, 2018 and September 12, 2018.

New defense lawyer Jerry Dinati told court that he had received the full phase disclosures and would be ready for trial.

The accused is further remanded.

The case has been adjourned to February 21.
