THE Vuvale Partnership was today signed by Fiji’s Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison in Canberra.

The partnership, which was announced by Mr Morrison during his visit to Fiji earlier this year, will see enhanced cooperation in multiple areas of mutual interest between the two traditional neighbors.

“I look forward to advancing the era of respect and openness that has, and must continue, to define the engagement between our governments,” Mr Bainimarama said.

“We’ve already had the chance to speak one-on-one and talk through some pressing issues ahead of this official bilateral meeting.

“Neither of us balk at speaking our minds or struggle with saying exactly what we mean. I believe we both hold a clear view of our priorities and a shared understanding of how we can live up to the high aspirations of the Vuvale Partnership,” he added.
