LELEAN Memorial School under-19 has a point to prove this weekend as they face St John’s College this weekend in the national semi-final of the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Super Deans Championship.

“We have a score to settle with them,” said coach Uluiyasi Vakatawakoula. St John’s College had beaten Lelean earlier this year in the eastern zone games.

“We lost to them earlier and we are prepared not to make the same mistake this time around.”

Lelean put away a determined Ratu Latianara Secondary School 35-5 while St John’s ousted Xavier College 17-3 in the national quarter-final last weekend in Suva to set up a semi-final showdown.

Vakatawakoula said the side would focus on discipline this week which he said they were lucky didn’t affect them last week.

“We gave away senseless penalties and even a couple of yellow cards which could have given the game away and we were lucky it was not the case.

“We know we will have a very strong challenge this week especially with only four teams left.”

The national semi-finals of the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Super Deans Championship will be held at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka this Saturday.
