2019/2020 National Budget: Rugby 7s overseas tours allocated $2.1m

FIJI’S overseas sporting tours has an allocation of $4million in the 2019/2020 Budget.

“We allocate $4million for overseas sporting tours with $600,000 going towards our 15s side to fund preparation for the World Cup later this year and $2.1million has been allocated to our men’s and women’s rugby sevens teams,” said Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

“Of course, our Fiji Airways Sevens has just secured their position in next year’s Olympics.

“Of course, I speak for everybody in congratulating National Sevens Coach Gareth Baber and the boys for an incredible finale to an amazing season.”
