Footpath upgrading works to begin at Nadi’s Naitavo Lane

Listen to this article:

FIJI Roads Authority contractors will be commencing night works on Naitavo Lane in Nadi for footpath upgrading works.

FRA chief executive officer Jonathan Moore said this program aimed to improve pedestrian access and safety.

According to FRA, works will commence from 7.30pm till 5.30am daily from Wednesday, May 22, to Monday, May 27.

The driveway will be reconstructed as part of the footpath upgrading works in the Nadi CBD.

FRA added all works would be carried out at night because of the heavy traffic volume during the day.

Since this is a back lane, other main streets can be used to cross the town.

Two-way access into Naitavo lane shall be provided for delivery trucks and other shop owners as the driveway at the Naitavo Lane and Clay Street intersection shall be closed only for all motorist and pedestrians.

Safety is paramount and FRA is advising members of the general public to stay alert and stay clear from the construction site.
