CHRISTIANS today converged in church services around the country to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Mount Calvary more than 2000 years ago.

For Saint Pius X Parish in Raiwaqa, Suva, more than 20 youths reenacted the events of Jesus’s suffering that even moved some of its members to tears.

Youth coordinator Amini Qalo said Easter should be a time of reflection for Christians in their walk with Christ.

“As Christians, this is the time for us to reflect on ourselves and know that Jesus Christ had died for our sins on the Cross, don’t be ashamed if you have gone astray,” Mr Qalo said.

“We have been enduring a lot of challenges leading up to this but we chose never to give up and I thank God that our youth was able to put out a very moving drama.”

Easter is a very significant date in Christianity and the foundation of the Christian faith.
