LAUTOKA Blues officials and player scooped the top award during the Vodafone Fiji FA awards night at the Sofitel Resort and Spa on Saturday night.
Team president Abdul Kadar was named the J D Maharaj Administrator of the Year, coach Kamal Swamy received the Carpenters Motors Coach of the Year award while defender Kavaia Rawaqa took out the Design Engineering Footballer of the Year prize.
The awards capped off a fine season by the Blues after winning the Vodafone Premier League, the Courts Inter-District Championship and the Pacific Cup.
Team president Abdul Kadar said the win was for the Lautoka football players, family members and fans.
He said receiving the top three awards was a humbling experience at the same time motivated the team to reach for higher goals this season.
Kadar said the awards were an indication of teamwork and hard work.
“We are honoured to be recognised and remembered for our achievements last season,” he said.
“We owe it to our loved ones, players, team management and fans because without these people we would not be here with the awards.”
He said the awards would motivate the platers to do well this season.
“This is the second consecutive year we have been awarded with the footballer of the year with Dave Radregai winning the award last year.
“The award will surely motivate other players in the side to work hard and write their name on the history book.”
He also thanked the team sponsors who have contributed to their success story.
