LAUTOKA anticipates a tough game against Rewa in this afternoon’s Vodafone Premier League encounter.
The reigning champion returns to the VPL completion after bowing out of the OFC Champions League and will use this game to win back the hearts of their fans.
Laced with star players such as Benjamin Totori, Samuela Drudru, Bong Kalo, Osea Vakatalesau, Kolinio Sivoki, Kavaia Rawaqa, Dave Radregai and Jone Vesikula, the side will be out in full force to bounce back after O’League early exit.
Team president Abdul Kadar said the side had learnt their OFC lesson but had set the focus on the local competition.
He said the game against Rewa would be tough.
“Rewa cannot be taken lightly because it has some talented players,” said Kadar.
“On the other hand we really need to work hard and win for our fans.
“Since we are out of the O’ League, the next big target is to defend the league title and it is not going to be an easy job.”
Kadar called on the Lautoka fans to come out in huge numbers and support the boys against the Delta Tigers.
Rewa was thumped by Nadi 6-1 in last weekend’s encounter and needs an upset win against Lautoka to keep their title hopes alive.
The game will be held at Churchill Park this afternoon, 3pm.
