Bail extended for military officer on attempted murder charge

A MILITARY officer who is alleged to have tried to murder his girlfriend had his bail extended by the High Court in Suva today.

Rajiv Krishan Padyachi appeared before High Court judge Justice Thusara Rajansinghe.

It is alleged that Mr Padyachi attempted to murder his girlfriend on September 15, 2018, in Nasinu.

His lawyer Gavin O’Driscoll informed the court through a letter this morning that he was attending to other matters and he could not appear for the case.

Mr Padyachi had pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The case has been adjourned to April 3 to fix a hearing date.
