THERE is currently no ban in place for some villages who previously went to New Zealand and Australia under the Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Workers Scheme.

Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Parveen Kumar clarified this while responding to a supplementary question by National Federation Party leader and Opposition MP Professor Biman Prasad in Parliament earlier today.

He said now village elders were involved in the monitoring of the recruitment processes in villages and if anything went wrong during the course of employment overseas, these elders were answerable.
