To lead a school of 296 students is a huge responsibility, one which Soko Kadawa is ready for.
The head girl was inducted on Friday, February 8, 2019 ,along with 63 other badge holders at DAV Girls College.
It was an emotional moment for the lass as she was badged by her mother Amalaini Kadawa.
While giving the vote of thanks, Kadawa said she would uphold the law and expectations of the school and also do her best to carry out the responsibilities given to her.
She was happy to be given the responsibility of head girl.
“When I came to Year 11 I didn’t know they were going to choose me as a deputy head girl since most schools have their deputy head girl in Year 12.
“I know that the badge isn’t here just for decoration it has a lot of responsibility here in school and especially outside,” she said.
Soko’s mother knew her daughter would become the head girl as she was grooming her for the role.
“I would advise her to be just the same, be humble, meet all the expectations of the school and be a role model to all the other prefects and the students who are aspiring to become prefects in the future years,” she said.
Soko aspires to become an accountant and enrol into the Fiji National University in the future.
