FOUR men are in Police custody for allegedly threatening a security officer before stealing assorted items worth more than $100,000 from a shop at Naselai in Tailevu.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the four were involved in an early morning aggravated robbery on Monday this week.
“The four men are alleged to have threatened the security officer before stealing cash, liquour, cartons of cigarettes and assorted items worth more than $100,000,” Ms Naisoro said.
She confirmed an Eastern Division taskforce team managed to gather information of where the alleged stolen cigarettes were disposed and tracked them to two shops and a home in Navua where more information was gathered about the alleged involvement of the four suspects.
Ms Naisoro said the four – one aged 38 and the others in their 40s – were arrested yesterday and are now in custody at the Nausori Police Station as investigations continue.
