GOVERNMENT is looking into the minimal use of chemicals and fertilizers and to revert to organic farming.
Speaking to farmers in the Western Division last week, Agriculture Minister Mahendra Reddy said they would soon advocate farmers on new strategies and substitutes on the use of chemical and fertilizers.
“We will strengthen our advisory capacity on the ground with more visibility of agriculture officers on the farms,” Mr Reddy said.
He said farmers should minimise their dependence on the use of fertilizer and chemicals.
