Man accused of raping nephew now faces three rape charges

STATE lawyer Mehzabeen Khan has amended the charges in the rape trial of a 29-year-old man who is alleged to have raped his nephew.

Ms Khan informed the court that they have amended the charges to three counts of rape.

It is alleged that the accused raped his 14-year-old nephew on three separate occasions between January 1, 2014 and April 17, 2014, in Colo-i-Suva.

The court heard that the victim who is a special school student was allegedly raped at the age of 10 years.

The third prosecution witness is taking the stand at the High Court in Suva.
