INDIA’S Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju is in the country on a special visit.

Earlier this morning at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, Mr Rijiju was present at the launch of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, an initiative aimed at increasing the promotion and use of the Hindi language in government or Indian organisations and international seminars.

Mr Rijiju said that India was a good partner of Fiji and they wanted to work together with the island nation in the coming years.

“We want India to be a destination for all and people come to India to visit and see what the country has to offer,” Mr Rijiju said.

The launch was part of the World Hindi Day Program.
