Trial date set for robbery suspects

TWO men charged with aggravated robbery had their trial date set by  Justice Thushara Rajasinghe at the High Court in Suva today.

The trial has been set from October 16 to October 27, 2019.

It is alleged that Kiniviliame Ralau and Ledua Yabaki robbed a person of $250 cash and his vehicle worth $20,000 on May 6, 2018 in Suva.

State lawyer Unaisi Tamanikaiyaroi informed the court that they will be calling eight to 10 witnesses during the trial while defence lawyer Mele Ratidara informed the court that they will be calling three witnesses.

Mr Ralau had his bail extended while Mr Yabaki has been further remanded.

The case has been adjourned to February 20, 2019 for mention.
