OPPOSITION Leader Sitiveni Rabuka reminded MPs that he was behind the first recruitment of women into the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces (RFMF).

While delivering his maiden speech in Parliament he said people must acknowledge the increase in the number of women participating in national decision making that have become Members of Parliament.

“I am also proud that I opened the door to recruit of women into the RFMF when I was Commander and one of the very first recruited is a very senior member of the RFMF and wife of a senior member of the FijiFirst cabinet,” Mr Rabuka said.
