SIXTEEN days of activism did not come from the United Nations, it came from women who worked hard to end violence against women across the globe.

These were the sentiments of Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre coordinator Shamima Ali during the Catholic Women’s league 16 Days of Activism program held at Lami today.

Ms Ali said it’s our responsibility to protect women and children because they are the most vulnerable.

Members of the Catholic Church in Lami marched through Lami town to Tikaram park this morning.

The 16 Days of Activism began from November 25 and will end on December 10.
