THE nomination of SODELPA MP Litia Qionibaravi to be the Deputy Speaker of Parliament was defeated in Parliament this morning.

This came after the Opposition’s nomination was defeated by 27 votes to 24 in a secret ballot.

The Assistant for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Veena Bhatnagar has been appointed as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
