THE Army cricket team contained their opposition from Police to win the 2018 Sukuna Bowl cricket match by 65 runs at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.

In a game of 30 overs, Army batted first tallying 174 runs in 29 overs before losing their last wicket.

Police batters were haunted by private Noa Acawei who bowled four wickets throughout the match cutting the Police tally short of its intended victory.

Acawai, who hails from Ono-i-Lau in the Lau Group, was pleased with his performance which also sa him being given the man of the match award.

“First and foremost I give God the glory,” Acawai said.

“Hats off to the Police team for a good game but a better team won on the day and I am grateful as well that army cricket was able to come out victorious.”
