THE Fiji Police Force is well postured to counter any attempts to create instability on Election Day and during the post-election period.

Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho today made it clear that they will not allow any person or group to disrupt the 2018 General Election tomorrow.

Brig-Gen Qiliho claims that there were “rumours”, which they were aware of, circulating of rogue groups working towards disrupting the voting process if results were not favourable.

He has also warned the rumour mongers to stop creating unnecessary fear among the public.

Brig-Gen Qiliho also encouraged voters to cast their votes tomorrow as officers will be deployed to all polling venues and stations.

He further added that they were working with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces in closely monitoring the security landscape.
