THE doctor who medically examined an alleged rape victim today informed the High Court in Suva that if a finger was successfully inserted into an 11-year-old’s private part, an injury would have been noticeable.
Instead, Dr Elvira Obit said in her evidence in court yesterday said she examined the alleged victim months after the alleged incident took place.
Responding to questions by State prosecutor Swastika Sharma on her professional opinion, Dr Obit said did not find any form of injuries.
The man who is charged with two counts of rape is standing trial before Justice Riyaz Hamza.
The alleged incident took place between January and February in 2016.
The accused is represented by Filimoni Vosarogo.
The trial will continue later today.
