CRICKET Fiji Board member Ligavatu Gukisuva has resigned from the association to contest for the 2018 general elections.

Gukisuva joined Cricket Fiji in June this year to manage the commercial part of the association.

The Vanuavatu native said he was privileged to be part of Cricket Fiji and had some of the most amazing time.

“I was fortunate to be part of two major tournaments, which were the National Club championships and the ICC T20 tournament, which were hosted at Albert Park,” said Gukisuva.

“We have had workshops with International Cricket Committee to exchange views and have indepth knowledge about the game.”

“I am glad in the short time I was part of the board, we managed to secure partners and provide a corporate look to Cricket Fiji with the relocation of their office.

“I wish Cricket Fiji all the best in the upcoming local and international tournament.”

Gukisuva is one of the 28 candidates contesting the election under the Unity Fiji banner.
