AN accident which occurred at Navola along the Queens Road yesterday afternoon claimed the life of a woman.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the victim who is in her 50s was a passenger in a car driven by a man in his 30s heading towards Suva.
She said the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicles causing it to veer off the road and landed in a creek.
“The driver is admitted at the Lautoka Hospital as well as two other passengers a man and a woman,” Ms Naisoro said.
“All are admitted at the Lautoka Hospital as investigations continue.
“The road death toll currently stands at 58 compared to 52 for the same period last year.”
