Taufa appointed new SPTO executive adviser

THE South Pacific Tourism Organisation has appointed Fijian national Fatafehi Cavu Luveni Taufa as its new executive adviser.

The intergovernmental body for tourism marketing and development made the announcement today, a week before its annual board meeting and the meeting of ministers in Samoa.

Ms Taufa recently started work with the SPTO on Monday, September 17, 2018.

She joined the organisation from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism in Suva where she served as a senior tourism officer for five years.

“We are delighted to welcome Ms Taufa to the SPTO family, especially at this crucial time as we’re preparing for our annual Board and Council of Tourism Ministers Meetings that will be held in Samoa next week. She will be facilitating in her role as the secretariat at these meetings” said SPTO chief executive officer Chris Cocker.

Ms Taufa holds a Bachelor of Arts (Management, Public Administration and Industrial Relations), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and a Masters in Commerce (Management and Public Relations).

She has been a civil servant for eight years with experience in organisation reviews, policy and legislative reviews, facilitation of partnerships, and project management, among others.
