Soldier on attempted murder charge further remanded

A SOLDIER who allegedly tried to murder his girlfriend has been further remanded in custody and will take his plea on October 24.

It is alleged that on September 15 this year, Rajiv Krishan Padyachi attempted to murder his girlfriend at Nasinu in the Central Division.

He appeared before High Court judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe today.

The State requested time from the court to file information and disclosures.
