THE Accident Compensation Commission of Fiji (ACCF) continues to educate the wider community about their rights and obligations under the Accident Compensation Act 2017.

The Commission recently conducted an awareness session on its services with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Engineering Regiment at Nabua last week.

In a statement issued yesterday, ACCF chief executive officer Parvez Akbar said it was an important awareness session with the RFMF Engineering Regiment who were responsible for nation building.

“The awareness was held to inform the team on our services and how to make accident compensation claims,” Mr Akbar said.

He said it was important that the ACCF reached out to various communities around the country and create awareness of their services since they were a newly-established organisation.

He also emphasised the importance of road safety for all road users so that injuries and fatalities could be prevented.

“We are thankful to the RFMF for providing ACCF the opportunity to engage with the Engineering Regiment as the information will not only be useful to the team, but also members of their families and friends that will further create awareness on the accident compensation scheme,” Mr Akbar said.

Mr Akbar is also advising community groups and stakeholders to contact ACCF for similar awareness sessions to be conducted with them.

Members of the public are advised to contact ACCF on 3347154 or visit the ACCF office in Valelevu or any LTA branch for further information.
