PM Bainimarama officiates at Nausori Airport’s $60m upgrade

THE Nausori Airport groundbreaking ceremony for its runway extension was held today, officiated by Fiji’s Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

The value of the upgrades has an estimated value of $60million.

Mr Bainimarama said the extension was expected to be completed by 2021.

He said the runway length would be extended from 1670 metres to 2140m, and widened from 30m to 45m.

He said this groundbreaking ceremony was another landmark infrastructure project.

“Today, we break ground on a new era of development growth for Nausori because my friends, the impact of the Nausori extension runway upgrade will be much greater than what meets the eye.”
