IT has been 114 years since the establishment of the Dilkusha Home in Nausori. And to celebrate the home’s anniversary, a week-long celebration called the Dilkusha Week has been organised this week with the theme “Jesus is the Best Gift, Give your Family the Best”.

Deaconess Salaseini Kacivakawalu said the theme taught the children of the Home the importance of the family unit.

She said a total of 42 children were living at the home. “We have our own family groups within the home, and so far we have seven families.

They do everything together, they have cell group meetings and carry out their duties in their families,” Deaconess Kacivakawalu said.

Students from the Davuilevu Theological College took time out to visit the home yesterday.

College’s the Rev Dr Jolame Lasawa said they were grateful to be part of this week’s celebrations.

“We at DTC are all here today (yesterday) and we are here as as a community, a community of faith to be part of the Dilkusha celebrations,” Dr Lasawa said.
