OFC U16 Championship: Fiji to face an uphill battle

The Vodafone Fiji U16 side will face an uphill battle when they face hosts Solomon Islands in the semi-final of the OFC U16 Championship on Wednesday.

Fiji qualified as runners-up from its group after defeating Samoa 3-2, then New Caledonia 1-nil.

The Yogendra Dutt coached side went down to Tahiti 3-nil.

Solomon Islands on the other hand are yet to concede a goal in three matches.

They thumped New Zealand and Vanuatu by 5-nil and accounted for PNG 7-nil.

Fiji takes on Solomon Islands at 11am on Wednesday.
