Court grants bail for woman charged for possession of illicit drugs

A 26-YEAR-OLD woman charged with found in possession of an illicit drugs was granted bail by the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.

Shaaista Shagufta who appeared before Magistrate Charles Ratakele is alleged to have been without lawful authority had in her possession 0.7 grams of methamphetamine on September 13, in Nasinu.

Defence lawyer Jiten Reddy applied for bail while police prosecutor constable Krishan Keshwan did not object to bail but asked that strict bail conditions be imposed.

Mrs Shagufta has been granted bail with two sureties who have signed a surety bond of $500 each.

The case has adjourned to November 20.
