WEIGHTLIFTING Fiji has requested an independent delegation from FASANOC to meet with the athletes and officials from Levuka.

Weightlifting Fiji president Atma Maharaj indicated this in a statement issued today saying the Weightlifting Fiji executive board have acknowledged a petition letter from some Levuka athletes and officials.

And also an email and media statements by Eileen Cikamatana regarding her withdrawal from the Oceania Championships, Junior World Championships and World Senior Championships this year.

“We respect the decision of the athletes and officials,” Maharaj said.

“We will not make any further comments and will provide further update of the outcomes, once the delegation has completed its task,” he said.

Maharaj said the request for an independent delegation is to discuss the specifics and facts of the matter with the athletes and officials from Levuka.
