PM to make West tour

“WE are coming to listen to your problems, to hear your suggestions and to address your issues.”

This was the message from permanent secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Sugar, Yogesh Karan.

He made the comment in reference to Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama’s three-day tour of the Western Division, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow.

“While the consultations, which will be held over three days, will primarily be for sugar-related issues, the honourable PM is also using the tour to hear from people about any concern or any issue they may be facing,” he said.

“And we are urging people to come out in numbers, we want maximum participation because that’s the way the PM listens to the voice of the people. It keeps the PM’s office well informed of the concerns that people have and allows us to ensure that the programs we have in place are able to meet the needs of every Fijian.

“We will have government ministers and department representatives to give people immediate responses to the issues that can easily be addressed — they will be there to hear your complaints and also take down your suggestions.”
