SUVA striker Savenaca Nakalevu has been dropped from the Flaw Valves-sponsored Suva football team ahead of the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT. This was confirmed by president Ritesh Pratap.

“He has been dropped from the squad since he did not join the team camp to prepare for the important Fiji FACT campaign,” Pratap said.

“The Suva officials contacted his wife, but still he did not join the team in training. “We will not entertain such behaviour from the contracted players. “I do not think his absence would make any difference in the team since we have other capable players in the team,” he said.

Pratap said Suva was taking the Fiji FACT seriously as the side last won the title in 2012. “We are suspending him (Nakalevu) today (yesterday) and we will call him to appear before the disciplinary committee,” he said.

“We had already applied for his release and it was granted from his employer, but I do not know why he opted not to join the team.

“He will tell his part as why he did not join the team camp.”

Suva will play Lautoka tonight at 6pm at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
