THE Government Shipping Services will celebrate its recent acquisition, a $7.9million multi-purpose vessel next week on Thursday, when the vessel is launched.
The vessel is anchored out in the Suva Harbour and is expected to provide medical services to support people during disaster relief and humanitarian operations.
Minister for Transport Parveen Kumar said the vessel would be launched and commissioned by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.
