LONG outstanding work in progress items relating to the Savusavu Terminal building upgrade and lights for Nausori Airport have  been resolved. The Senior Accountant at the Airports Fiji Limited, Rohit Prasad confirmed this while presenting submissions to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts on the 2015 Audit Report on State Owned Entities and Statutory Authorities in Suva earlier today.

Mr Prasad said the contract to design and build a new terminal was awarded to Pacific Affordable Homes in 2010 and was terminated in July last year.

The contract went into dispute because of quality and payment issues.

The present management had to correct these through a legal action against the contractor, Pacific Affordable Homes, which ultimately resulted in the contract being terminated in July 2017,” Mr Prasad said.

He also said the Nausori Airport Lights and Fittings, were purchased for replacement of runway lights at Nausori Airport in 2011.
