Girmitiya descendants celebrate Girmit day

DESCENDANTS of Girmitiyas gathered in Nadi today to mark Girmit Remembrance Day celebrations.The celebrations which was hosted by the Nadi Town Council was focused on the contributions that the Girmitiyas in Fiji.

Local Government Minister Parveen Kumar Bala said the occasion was a reminder of the work and dedication of Girmitiyas and their descendants.
