HIGH Court judge Justice Salesi Temo yesterday informed defense lawyer Lisiate Qetaki that he will not tolerate any other excuses to delay Timoci Lolohea’s trial.

Mr Lolohea is charged with the alleged murder of his 22-year-old defacto partner at Nasilivata Road in Nadera last year.

Mr Qetaki said the defence was not able to produce their witness, Epi Toloi because he was out of the country.

Justice Temo said such excuses shouldn’t hinder the trial proceedings also and not to waste the court’s time as it had other cases to deal with.

He said such excused would only be accepted in the Magistrate Court, but not in the High Court.

Justice Temo said counsels needed to be well prepared like the Fiji Sevens Team as they were always prepared to face their opponent.

Both the prosecution and defense made their closing submissions on the case today.

Justice Temo will sum up the case next Monday.

The accused has been further remanded in custody.
