A MAN in his 30s died following a tragic road accident at Nakasi this morning.
Police say the alleged incident occurred at the junction of Vavalagi Road after 7am.
The man’s 26-year-old co-worker was being treated at the Nausori hospital, and the driver was in custody at the Nausori Police Station.
Spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the victim was walking with his co-worker when they were allegedly bumped by a vehicle.
She said the 30-year-old driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Investigations are continuing.
The road death toll stands at 46 compared to 42 for the same period last year.
