TODAY was an emotional day for parents who lost their kids to cancer as they shared their stories with those present during the Walk On Walk Strong (WOWS) Kids 10th anniversary thanksgiving service.
A father of seven who lost her nine-year-old daughter last year after she was diagnosed with brain tumor in 2015 said WOWS had impacted the life of dozens of children and their families with the type of assistance it provided.
Taholo Kami, the father of 15-year-old Tae Kami who died of cancer in August 2008, described how her daughter died and her list of dreams which included a resource room, scholarship funds, a hospital and WOWS Fund to help out children with cancer in Tonga and the Pacific.
Tae died leaving behind a song – Walk On Walk Strong – this song echoed the auditorium at the thanksgiving service at USP today.
WOWS Kids Fiji (WKF) is a non-profit charity foundation for children with cancer in Fiji.
It was established in 2014 to fulfil the mandate of the Tae Kami Foundation in Fiji.
