JOSAIA Leone, who escaped from the Nadi Police Station three weeks ago, has surrendered himself to the Western Division Taskforce team.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said Leone surrendered himself yesterday evening and was accompanied by a close relative who was now in custody at the Lautoka Police Station.

Leone and two others, Nacanieli Bakata and Ilaitia Vuivuda, had escaped together while under Police custody at the Nadi Police station.

Bakata and Vuivuda were arrested last week at Namara Settlement in Tacirua after a team of officers from the Valelevu Police Station and the Southern Division Taskforce were sent to the settlement.

Meanwhile, a woman has been charged for harbouring Leone and will be produced at the Lautoka Magistrates court today.

Ms Naisoro acknowledges members of the public and the media for assisting the Fiji Police Force in disseminating the request for information following the trio’s escape from lawful custody last month.
