THE second leg of the Flametree Waimanu 7s Series will be held this weekend at the Sawani Primary School ground.

The three-leg series, which was launched last month, was coined by the neighbouring rugby clubs of Waimanu and Colo-i-Suva to give village teams in Naitasiri exposure to sevens tournament without the hassle of travelling out of the province.

With the support of Flametree Developments Ltd director Andrew Naylor, the series kicked off with the first tournament won by Viria Blues which beat Waimanu 19-15 in the final.

Tournament director Alipate Navuso said the first round was a success with a good response from teams, and judging from the outcome they expected more teams to turn out this Saturday at the Sawani school ground.

“We like to acknowledge our sponsors Flametree Development Ltd, and the support from Fiji Rugby Union, Sawani Primary School and the vanua of Vuna,” Navuso said.

The last leg of the series will be held on December 23.
