Narhari Electrical Co Pte Ltd, wholesale distributors of household brands, yesterday launched its “For Fiji Ever Fiji — 60 years of Partnership with Panasonic” $60,000 worth of giveaway promotion to celebrate 60 years of partnership with the Japanese brand Panasonic.
“We are the longest serving distributor of Panasonic products in Fiji and around the world,” said Chetan Kumar, general manager for the Narhari Group.
“Today we launch our For Fiji Ever Fiji promotion of 60 years of celebration with $60k worth of giveaway. It’s a 6 months promotion that starts today and it will go until March 31, 2024, where there’ll be 60 winners. This is how it will be: There’ll be 60 winners and we’ll be doing our first draw of 30 winners at December end. And then another set of 30 winners will be drawn end of March. All you need to do is spend $200 or more at any Narhari shop to get into the draw to win the 60 prizes. We’ve also partnered up with Carpenters’ Finance so if you’re buying something on hire purchase, you’ll get 3 months interest free on Panasonic products, if you spend more than $1000. Also, we have eight shops Fiji wide so there will be a winner each who can get $3000 worth of their goods back on hire purchase,” Mr Kumar said.
Narhari, which started operations 70 years ago, brought to Fiji the first Panasonic transistor radio as its first product line under the brand, which was then known as ‘National’.
“Panasonic was its first brand (then as National) and it’s been from Day One without any break. It has been with us, we’ve been with them so this promotion is actually to give back to the people of Fiji who’s believed in the brand National, back in the day it was National, now it’s Panasonic, so it’s time for Narhari and Panasonic to give back to the people of Fiji,” Mr Kumar said.
“Our first Panasonic, or National Product was the small transistor radios which we are still selling as of today. And we’re planning to be stronger year by year. It has become a brand that people know as reliable and it’s a brand people can trust and rely on because when you purchase something Panasonic, it’s a peace of mind because your investment is well invested in a good product that will last you for a good number of years.”
According to the company’s history profile on its website, Narhari was established in 1953 by the Harikisun Brothers Ltd in collaboration with Narseys Ltd to become the sole agent for Matsushita Electrical Company Ltd, which is now Panasonic Corporation, a multinational Electronics Corporation based in Kadoma, Japan to distribute Panasonic brands of electronics and electrical goods in Fiji.
“In mid-1980’s, Narseys Ltd sold its shares in Narhari to Harikisun Brothers and since then they have become the sole trader of Narhari Electrical Co Pte Ltd,” it said.
