A CHEQUE of $51,574 was handed by the Fiji Football Association to WOWS Kids Fiji on Sunday, after the completion of the 2026 FMF Inter-District Championship in Suva.

It was raised through the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants and the 2025 FMF IDC and was received by WOWS Kids Fiji operational manager, Mere Lutuciri- Williams,

This contribution represented Fiji FA’s commitment to social responsibility to WOWS Kids, which supports children battling cancer and their families across the country.

The funds were collected through one dollar of every ticket sold at the two tournaments in 2025 under the association’s charitable initiative where a dollar was collected from every ticket sold at major Fiji FA tournaments to support the organisation.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said the association continued to remain committed towards supporting communities on and off the field.

He added these contributions reflected Fiji FA’s core values and its responsibility to give back.

Patel also acknowledged the thousands of passionate football fans who supported the two major tournaments and said the contributions helped the association continue its commitment towards children battling cancer.

The partnership between Fiji FA and WOWS Kids Fiji was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2023 which established the method of contribution of one-dollar per ticket sale.

Meanwhile, WOWS Kids Fiji works closely with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to provide assistance to children diagnosed with cancer, including support for their families during treatment.

Ba won the 2026 FMF IDC after a 2-0 win over Navua in the Super Premier Division final at the HFC Bank Stadium.
