242 recommendations under the Universal Periodic Review

The Fiji Council of Social Services has revealed that Fiji has been given a total of 242 recommendations under the Universal Periodic Review.

This was highlighted by the Executive Director for FCOSS Vani Catanasiga during their annual reflection week which began today at the Moana Anglican Services and Teaching Centre (MAST) in Suva.

Ms Catanasiga said out of the total 187 recommendations were accepted by the Fijian Government while 55 were still being examined.

“This year we have received a record high of 242 recommendations from the UPR,” he said.

“It’s not all bad news because 187 recommendations has been accepted by the government while 55 are still being examined.”
