A major commercial and residential development featuring 21 high-rise buildings is being proposed for Namadi, with public consultations to begin soon as part of the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) process.

According to a public notice issued by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the project is being proposed by Heron Company (Fiji) Pte Ltd on freehold land at Lot 2, DP 11608, off Verrier Road and Ragg Avenue in Lower Namadi.

The proposed gated development will include 21 high-rise buildings ranging from 14 to 24 storeys, along with road access, recreational areas, a shopping mall and other supporting infrastructure and amenities.

The Ministry said the consultations are being conducted in accordance with the Environment Management Act 2005, the Environment Management (Amendment) Act 2025 and the Environment Management (EIA Process) Regulations 2007.

As part of the EIA study, the developer is required to undertake public consultations to gather feedback and address concerns from stakeholders and nearby residents before the project can proceed through the approval process.

The Ministry is encouraging members of the public to attend the consultations and raise any concerns or queries regarding the proposed development.

The proposal, if approved, would rank among the largest residential and commercial developments planned for the Suva area in recent years, significantly altering the skyline of the Namadi and Nabua corridor.
