There are Good Samaritans at the 2022 Coca-Cola Games such as Keir Barnes.

He is 18, a 800m athlete and a student of International Secondary School in Suva.

Barnes and his classmate Kashish Daswaney from India but living in Fiji for five years, fundraised and bought five pairs of running shoes which were donated to athletes from Naitasiri.

“My mother said that in the last Coca-Cola Games in 2019, a lot of the larger schools had received massive sponsorships which had helped them to pay for everything within the games. It got me thinking about smaller schools and whether or not anybody was providing them with any assistance, and so I asked around and found that there are some teams around the country who may struggle to get to this event. So from then on I discussed with my classmate about that to buy shoes and give them to the athletes.”
